perfect hideaway | treehouses

This is our backyard … taken a few weeks ago in the deary of what is Wisconsin springtime {can’t wait to see the bloomin’ lushness come around!}.

We live on some 125ish acres of wooded property.  Complete with ponds and plenty of wildlife!  Heron, deer, hawks, opossum, mink, coyote, turtles, snakes, fish, ducks, geese … and the occasional horseback rider {most of the time it’s miss teenager}.

So when I saw these treehouses … let’s just say … there’s some serious wanting going on!

I love the thought of hiding away somewhere, tucked into a cozy spot where no one can find me.  When I was younger, I’d see a house with one of those little, nooky-type towers and I’d dream of hiding away in there with a book.  My sister and I used to make cozy spaces for ourselves to play and get lost in … and did you ever make houses on clotheslines with mom’s sheets?  We’d play in there for hours!

Anyway.  I am seriously loving these treehouses and the best part is, we’ve got plenty of space for one!  Or two?  :)

The one below is my fav!  Think I can talk CJ into one?  Or is it that the children should be talking him into one?  Or two?  :)

Hi Tracie! Oh, I loved the sight of these treehouses!! We had one growing up in our backyard, built in an old apple tree. It was a space that could become anything and like an old friend to visit! Thanks for the post….brought back some great memories! And I hope you get one (or two) treehouses for you and your family ;-)

Oh . . . if you build one (or two) can I please come over to play?? We had a “tree fort” in our neighborhood . . . but it was mostly a pallet suspended in the branches of a tree in our neighbor’s yard. But I’ve always dreamed of having a real one!! I think you AND the kids should lobby CJ to increase your chances! He’d have to cave with a beautiful Girl Tribe begging him!!

Wouldn’t it be wild to have one that looked like the elvish tree houses in Lothlorien in the Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers? All beautiful curves and magical lights and gilding?

Siiiiiiiiiiiiigh. I say you get tree houses!! One for everyone!
