I’m always super inspired by my good friend Heather and the charitable giving she instills in her children. She and Jack rang bells last year for The Salvation Army and it was something on my radar for this year. So when she posted this … I was all over it.
I’ve got the girls and I signed up to ring the bell this coming Friday. The girls have a half day of school, so I thought it’d be perfect timing. We’ll be in Oak Creek at Walgreens {corner of Hwy 38 & Ryan Road} on December 4 from 1-3pm … if you can’t stop by to see us, you can help us “fill” our kettle by donating here.
One of my goals is to instill a greater sense of giving in our children. I’ll be the first to admit, they live in a “gimme” kinda world. I desperately want to change that and I think ringing a bell for The Salvation Army will be a great first step!
Click here to volunteer, or set up your own online kettle.
I’m so excited you guys are doing this! You’ll have so much fun! And…we just may be stopping by too! :-)
oh wait, just because your kids have a half-day doesn’t mean mine do (i’m not thinking so clearly today)…guess it’s online support for me! :-(
Awesome Tracie! We rang on Saturday at KMart on Douglas. I told Zach that he really should stay home with Daddy, but he insisted on coming. He ended up laying on the dirty sidewalk the whole time! Lilah did an awesome job and rang the whole hour and thanked everyone for their donations. We will definately be doing it again next year. I didn’t know you could set up this online donation thing though! Cool! Don’t forget to wear your Santa hats or reindeer antlers! Next up is volunteering to serve food at a Soup Kitchen.
AWESOME!!! I will be there, for certain!! Can’t wait to see you and the girls and contribute to the cause!
LOVE this idea!
I’m off to learn more now.
Those bells are one of my favorite sounds…
