so proud!

I am so incredibly proud of my girls!

We rang bells today for the Salvation Army … the weather has been beautiful {if 45 degrees can be called beautiful}, but today dropped to 25 and windy!!!

I was super concerned about the girls holding up and doing this … but they did!  And they really enjoyed it.  They didn’t complain once … and believe me people … they can complain with the best of ’em!

They had a half day of school today, so as soon as I picked them up, we headed to Walgreen’s.  Actually, CJ took Hunter home and brought her by later.

So we get to Walgreen’s.  And there the kettle sits.  In the freezing cold wind.

The girls were all bundled up and excited to do it.  Granny Rose met us there and we stood outside freezing for all of about 20 minutes before Granny had the awesome idea of bringing the kettle into the entrance way.  “Great idea!” I said … and asked if she’d go ask permission.

She did.  And it was granted.

So we hauled that heavy kettle inside and quickly warmed up some.

Anyway … here are a few photos and videos of the girls.

Having the girls ring was brilliant!  People couldn’t resist them.  Honestly, our kettle was filled to the top … dolla’s poking out of the slot!  We rang for two hours, and in our last five minutes, 12 people came through.  Of those 12, 8 gave.  I’m tellin’ ya … it was the kids!

The girls really got into it too … “Thank you ma’am!”  “Merry Christmas sir!”

Adorable!  Here are a few photos snapped with my iPhone.

I’m so, so glad we did this.  And I’m especially proud that the girls understood and knew we were doing it to raise money for other families this Christmas.

Piper asked at one point, “Now, are we doing this every Friday, or just today?”

Thank you to Trishie, Craig, Tiffany, Zachary, Nicole & Leslie for stopping by!  If you’d like to donate, but couldn’t stop by … you can donate to our online kettle here.

And now my friends … I am exhausted!  Granny has the kids for tonight, while CJ and I host a “fondue” party at our home … starting in 30 minutes … but first I must do my injection.  Youchie!  And to all … a good night! ;)

And I am so proud of their mommy for having them do this and for her staying and freezing with them. They really were angels and the pot of money proved it.
