A friend sent me this song + video … and it got me thinking that I’d like to share it with y’all. Not just the catchy diddy and inspiring message … but also some thoughts it evoked within me as I listened to it. Well … deep thoughts and a smile!
Have you encountered someone who’s been dealt a bad hand in life? Or maybe it’s even you?
Do you sit and wallow in that bad hand … whether it be unforgiveness, bitterness, sadness, or even something someone’s said to you? In our human nature we have a tendency to hit the replay button on what’s happened to us. We think about the situation, the wrong-doing, the ugly … we think about it again and again, and because of that we can’t move out of it.
I’d like to encourage you today to move. Move beyond your bad hand. Put it in the past. No amount of thinking, wishing, talking is going to change what’s happened. It is what it is.
I believe God’s allowed each of us bad hands … I also believe He’s watching how we play them. Are we going keep the cards and continue to play them again and again. Or are we going to work towards a new game, giving God glory along the way?
Life isn’t about what you’ve been dealt, but rather how you play the cards.

So true!! I often find myself playing unpleasant words/situations “over and over” in my head, in my heart…sometimes forgetting who is and what is truly important in my life; my children, my husband, my family, my “real” friends and of course God. Time to let go…and move on. Make the best of the cards dealt to you, getting rid of those bad cards…could get you winning the whole game.

What a great song! And great words! The videotape of the people dancing made me smile too! So, the other day Mike and I were dancing in the kitchen – me “running man” and Mike “sprinkler” – while our kids just laughed at us. If you ever need a smile, I could have the kids videotape us and send it to you. :)

I love this! When my daughter was stillborn I had two choices: 1) sit in a corner and have pitty on myself or 2) Pick myself up, brush myself off and start all over again. I chose 2. I chose 2 and took it to the next level. For almost 18 years I have been there for others who went through the same pain. I am the infant and pregnancy loss minister for our church and through our church and word of mouth have helped even more. Praise God for strength. Many blessings to you!!!!!!!!!!
