I’ve found a cozy little, new-to-me, coffee shop where I’ve been hanging out lately doing some writing and Bible studying. They play Christian music and have scripture scattered throughout the joint!
I get a peaceful feeling inside when I’m hanging around sipping my coffee, or smoothie, or munching on a lunchtime salad {yeah, so . . . maybe I do spend a few too many hours hanging around!}.
Anyway.
In keeping with last week’s message, it warms my heart to patronize a place that isn’t afraid to advertise their beliefs.
And . . . dear readers . . . I found this sweet prayer displayed on one of the tables and wanted to share it with you.
The Knots Prayer
Dear God:
Please untie the knots
that are in my mind,
my heart and my life.
Remove the have nots,
can nots and the do nots
that I have in my mind.
Erase the will nots,
may nots,
might nots that may find
a home in my heart.
Release me from the could nots,
would nots and
should nots that obstruct my life.
And most of all,
Dear God,
I ask that you remove from my mind,
my heart, and my life all of the ‘am nots’
that I have allowed to hold me back,
especially the thought
that I am not good enough.
Amen
Author Known To God

Thanks so much for sharing – exactly what I needed to hear today
Love the byline: “Author Known to God.” For all the bloggers and writers out there who struggle with finding their place in this industry, remember this… God reads everything you write. (I just wish He’d leave a comment!) :)
As I was reading “The Knots Prayer” I immediately felt a sense of calm wash over me. Clearly it was exactly what I needed this morning. Thank you for always sharing with us what we obviously need but don’t know it. Thinking I need to print it out and put it up where I can see it often since I have a sometimes get a serious case of “not good enough.”
Hebrews 13:8…my dad’s favorite verse :)
