Never did I think I’d have to have a house full of girls to learn the technical name for insects! Instead I had visions of sugar & spice and everything nice.
I digress.
I present you with a random drawing of Hunter’s …
Ladyite Bugs and afits = Ladybugs and Aphids
I have a new appreciation for creepy crawly things … I never thought I’d be the woman who, rather than stomping on them, ushers spiders out my front door. And when I found a baby mouse in my tub one day, I took a photo … nary a scream was heard!
So when Wynter came yelling down the stairs the other day, that one of our guineas had her baby … I barely batted an eye. Barely.
First … I had no idea we had a pregnant guinea. What surprised me most was the fact that the girls knew! “Oh, we forgot to tell you.” Nice.
So yeah. We’ve got a newborn guinea in our midst. For now, he/she’s named “little one.”
I absolutely adore their zest for life and learning and exploring!
Well, that calls for a hearty CONGRATULATIONS!! :)
And reminds me… the beginning of my sex ed started with a book called “Susie’s Babies” (Susie was a hamster) or some such similar title. Haha… thanks for refreshing those awkward memories ;)
Oh, Momma . . . you are my hero. Not sure how you do it, but I want to be more like you. (Cause a critter birth probably would have sent me over the edge!) Congratulations on the new addition to the family!
So cute! If you are looking for a new name, I suggest “Flower” as he or she kind of reminds me of “Flower” in Bambi.
oh little one is cute… and so funny that the girls just “forgot” to tell you!!! i suppose december is a busy month!!!
you are a good mama. a great one. xoxo
prayers are spoken and being repeated, an email coming soon. k? k.
too funny!!! i can’t believe the menagerie of critters has grown again! :-)
What a cute little hamster : ) I have all boys and have definitely had to toughen up and change my ways regarding creepy crawlies and such!
too funny! not surprised at all! We are busy in our house this week taking care of a friend’s bunny for the week (along with all our other critters!) Well, they have a girl bunny and we have a boy bunny, so I’ve had to explain that it is extremely important to not let them do the “tap dance” to my kids. Separation is an absolute must! We cannot be responsible for “bunny” support! :)
Aww! How precious! I loved playing with bugs too when I was younger…now they just creep me out! Especially spiders!
