We’ve got one day left in Ireland … it’s been a great time, but as always, we’re looking forward to being home again.
I’ve been facebooking and tweeting about the castle we’ve been staying in and have had many requests for photos. So I thought I’d put a few up today!
Beware … next week I’ll have a post chock full o’ photos!!
So this is our castle.
And this was a carriage ride we took around the estate that ended with a picnic lunch.
There are so many things to do here, we’ve only been off the property once. I love to envision living here years ago and what it would’ve been like. Incredible to think about what times were like back then.
There’s an area where there are probably a hundred ducks to feed. We take our left over bread from dinner, or go to the front desk and they give you bags of bread and you go down and feed them. They can be quite vicious with a 4 yo’s hands, but it’s been a daily activity for us anyway …
And lastly, here are a few shots of inside the castle. Just incredible!
Well … I’m off to try to get the girls to do a photo session for me on the property. The weather’s been rainy and bleak, so we haven’t had too much of an opportunity. But this place is too beautiful to pass up taking photos of the girls {ahem, they of course feel differently}. There’s some beautiful light this morning, but it looks like rain is coming again …
We leave early tomorrow morning for 15ish hours of traveling {yuck!}. But like I said, once we’re cuddled into our own beds and the girls are snuggling with the dogs … it’s amazing how these experiences can end up feeling like a lifetime ago. A lifetime of blessings if you ask me!

incredible indeed. =)
what a fascinating place. what brought you there? did i miss something major? i mean, it’s lovely, but to have only left the property once? is this castle the entire reason you went? please fill in the blanks. looks like a marvelous experience. the british isles, including ireland, have always had this captivating pull for me. however, i don’t travel as much as i should. so, instead i watch the travel channel on the rare occasion i’m in some hotel somewhere other than that neck of the woods (since we don’t do tv at our house). or else i pick up the occasional travel magazine….or live vicariously through movies such as darby o’gill & the little people, the water horse (which i do know is not based in ireland), or leap year. of course movies are movies, but they’re about as close as i fear i’ll ever get. next time you visit your castle, please promise to fold me up & stow me along in your suitcase, hmmmm? have a great time traveling. enjoy your last little bit, dollface! =)
big hugs from across the pond at “home.”
p.s.
i do believe i need one of those stone gazebos here on the ranch! ;)
