jet lag, leprechauns & angelina jolie

So we’re in Ireland.  The land of the Irish, rainbows, pots o’ gold and leprechauns!  And my littles are obsessed with catching a leprechaun.  Let me explain …

When we got to the hotel, three of us {ahem, I admit I was one} crashed …

While three of us got creative.  Any guess what this is?

If you guessed a leprechaun trap … you’d be 100% correct!

And then … kudos to CJ for finding the National Leprechaun Museum in Dublin!  The girls were so excited {the teen … not so much}!  The museum was a bit of a let-down, seriously … not a single leprechaun in the place … but the girls still loved it.

That is until we had this freak accident!  There was a room with something called “An Ghealach” {The Rainbow} … it’s made up of strings with the colors of the rainbow.  The girls were having fun running to and fro in them, when Wynter fell and started crying.

To put things into perspective, Taylor affectionately calls Wynt “DQ” {drama queen} and … Wynt tends to walk on the clumsy side of life.  So I didn’t think too much of it.  But … we know our kids, don’t we?  And this wasn’t an ordinary cry … I knew something was wrong.  I just couldn’t tell what and she wouldn’t say.

Wynter also gets extremely embarrassed, so I waited for everyone to leave the room and asked Wynter what was wrong.  That’s when she said, “I got choked.”

I’m honestly still not too sure what happened.  The best I can figure out is that she tripped and fell, and as she was falling the strings wrapped around her neck.

Her owie runs from ear to ear!  It’s dried up now and scabbing … poor thing is pretty self-conscious of it, but fortunately we’re in the land of “rockin’ the scarf look!”

Oh! and notice the chocolate around her mouth?  Temporary pain relief.

In all seriousness though, we’re having a good time.  Pretty low key.  Some museum browsing, shopping, eating … and wow! tons of sleeping!

I got a little chuckle last week while we were walking to the Natural History museum … I saw a shop that I’d gone in 11ish years ago.  Taylor was 4 at the time and my only child.  CJ and I weren’t married and I had no plans on the horizon for any other children.  So I got to reminiscing and remembering that time with Taylor and CJ and thinking about how much life had changed.

The chuckle came when I thought myself a little like Angelina Jolie with all my littles in tow looking for the museum … well, minus 2 littles, a skinny bod, an entourage of bodyguards and paparazzi, humungo shades, killer heels, and a plethora of tattoos.  Okay, so … never mind … as you were.
