So … I mentioned Wynter is joining chess club at school? She was super excited to get a head start and wanted me to teach her what I could. It’s been years since I’ve played, so it took us a bit to get into the swing of it. Basically, we were going pretty … well … basic. Going over the names of the pieces, how they could move and where. Despite the face on this girl … she really got into it! She remembers the names {but prefers castle over rook}, she remembers their placement on the board and even remembers how they can move!
We had a fun game and I’m proud of her for sticking with it! And see the watch laying on the table? That’s CJ’s watch. He’s been traveling, and so it’s become Wynter’s constant companion. Gotta do, what ya gotta do!
OH! and thank you to a few of you who asked … but Wynt didn’t get the part she wanted in the play. She’s just fine with it and we’re all proud of her anyway! Great experience for next year! And I still get to hear her sing in the car!

Go Wynter!!
I learnt how to play chess as a child and didn’t care a whole lot as a kid, but once I got married it became fun as Paul also plays and we get really competitive with it :)
Before kids we’d take a chess board to a park or coffee shop and spend hours playing.
love this picture and the watch…too sweet. xoxo, cat (ps, praying for you. ….let me know how you’re doing when you get the chance!)
